Samsung Galaxy Fold salokāmo viedtālruni mēs oficiāli ieraudzījām februāra beigās, kad tas tik atrādīts Galaxy S10 viedtālruņu prezentācijas pasākumā. Pasākumā Samsung paziņoja, ka jaunais un patiešām inovatīvais viedtālrunis pārdošanā nonāks jau 26. aprīlī.
Tuvojoties Galaxy Fold pārdošanas uzsākšanai, Samsung vairākas ierīces izdalīja tehnoloģiju apskatniekiem un… tie jaunos telefonus salauza. Problēma nav bijusi tikai vienam vienīgam apskatniekam, par salauztiem Galaxy Fold sāka ziņot uzreiz vairāki žurnālisti un blogeri. Pārsvarā viņi pieļāva kļūdu noplēšot displeja aizsargplēvi (apskatniekiem izsniegtajiem telefoniem nebija norāde, ka plēvi nedrīkst plēst nost) un tādējādi sabojāja telefonus.
Pieņemu, ka Samsung nebija rēķinājies ar tik neveiksmīgu PR kampaņu un nu uzņēmums oficiāli ir paziņojis, ka telefona nonākšana veikalu plauktos tiek pārcelta uz vēlāku laiku. Pie tam Samsung šobrīd nenorāda, kad tieši jaunie telefoni būs gatavi iegādei.
“We recently unveiled a completely new mobile category: a smartphone using multiple new technologies and materials to create a display that is flexible enough to fold. We are encouraged by the excitement around the Galaxy Fold.
“While many reviewers shared with us the vast potential they see, some also showed us how the device needs further improvements that could ensure the best possible user experience.
“To fully evaluate this feedback and run further internal tests, we have decided to delay the release of the Galaxy Fold. We plan to announce the release date in the coming weeks.
“Initial findings from the inspection of reported issues on the display showed that they could be associated with impact on the top and bottom exposed areas of the hinge. There was also an instance where substances found inside the device affected the display performance.
“We will take measures to strengthen the display protection. We will also enhance the guidance on care and use of the display including the protective layer so that our customers get the most out of their Galaxy Fold.
We value the trust our customers place in us and they are always our top priority. Samsung is committed to working closely with customers and partners to move the industry forward. We want to thank them for their patience and understanding.”
Patiešām cienījama rīcība šādā situācijā. Skaidrs, ka Galaxy Fold uzbūvē izmantotās tehnoloģijas ir vēl pavisam svaigas, tomēr apskatnieku nespēja tikt galā ar šo ierīci uzskatāmi parāda, ka tā vēl nav gatava masām. Redzēsim vai šis Samsung solis nesabremzēs arī Huawei, kas arī šogad plāno pārdošanā laist savu Mate X salokāmo viedtālruni.
Pareizs solis. Un tā atlikšana var ievilkties uz vairākiem mēnešiem. Nebrīnītos, ja viņi palaistu to uz gada beigām.
Jo šaubos ka īstermiņā var rast risinājumu visām problēmām.
Vien pārstrādām eņģes, lai tās būtu maksimāli noslēgtas un nekas nevarētu tik viegli tikt iekšā varētu būt lielākais izaicinājums.

Bet nu vēl aizvien jautājums – vai būs Baltijas tirgum. Jo dzirdēju ka Huawei neplāno Baltijā piedavāt savu Mate X
Baltijas tirgum būs, kad vietējie iemācīsies noplēst pareizo plēvi, nevis visu ekrānu :)
Ka tik netiks atcelts pavisam…
Kāpēc lai atceltu, ja ir jau gatavs? Atceltu varētu tādu projektu, kas būtu prototips tikai. Šeit jau prece bija uz rokām.
Pārāk trausla ikdienas lietošanai, tas gan. Pie tā arī ir jāstrādā, ka telefoni tiks izmantoti arī ārpus laboratorijām.
